I wasn’t a 4-pointer scorer. Heck, I graduated with a GPA of 1.8.
Back in school, I was a reserved boy. Didn’t mingle much with the people in my class, only if they approach me or invite me to have lunch. It came to a point where I became totally ignorant about my future. Couldn’t care less with what will happen to me. I wasn’t interested in the course I did, but focused on unbeneficial boy-girl relationship, which eventually led to my breaking point.
Everything changed ever since then. I took a step back and envision how my future will look like. It was a blank canvas. I had acquired nothing. No specific skillsets. That was when I realized I needed to do something about it.
Fast forward, 8 years later, here I am, standing in front of these students sharing my profession and the set of skills I’ve built over time. While conducting the sharing session, I looked at them and it reminds me of myself. I was there at their place back then.
Thank you for the opportunity. This is the exposure I needed. It feels right giving back to the community. I will never forget my turning point. This was where I started that led me to who I am today and I’m grateful for it.
