Before the existent of mobile phones, YouTube and social media, toys and action figures used to be our source of entertainment as a kid back in the days. It was a medium that was made accessible to everyone, like you can get them almost everywhere, from local toy shops and the well-known kid’s paradise, Toys R Us, just to name a few.
But as time when by, with the rise of technology and kids being exposed to the digital world, toys have seemed to be left untouched. So where does this leave for toy shop owners if the demand is declining? Even Toys R Us in the States were forced to shut down due to its unprofitable business.
That’s where people like me, an avid action figure enthusiast and even collectors comes into place. It is definitely a rewarding hobby to buy and collect action figures, but most importantly, it’s that nostalgic feeling you get that made you reminisce your childhood days.
We’re here at Havelock 2. The shop that I used to get my action figures is located here. Previously it was based at China Square Central, Chinatown before it was closed and I had no idea where they went after as I couldn’t recall or noticed what was the name of the shop. And not until recently, with the wonders of internet, I stumbled upon them online. So that’s when I decided to pay them a visit. Let’s check them out!
